About Me

Dr Ighsaan Carr has obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Stellenbosch. He spent 18 months as a medical officer at Groote Schuur and Tygerberg hospitals before commencing his career as an internal medicine registrar at the University of Stellenbosch, Tygerberg Hosiptal complex.

He completed his Specialist Physician fellowship with the Colleges of Medicine South Africa and his Masters of Medicine (Stellenbosch University) degrees in 2012.

He practices general internal medicine and has a keen interest in cardiovascular and respiratory medicine. He is extremely passionate about medicine and has published articles on pulmonology and gastroenterology.

Dr Carr is very keen in Infectious Disease, Antibiotic stewardship, Critical care , Cardiovascular and Respiratory medicine. Dr Carr is also a family man with a lovely wife and 3 boys. He loves the outdoors, particularly spending time with his family , cycling and is very keen rock and surf angler.
